I recently had an issue regarding cropping and the technical aspect behind the digital camera aspect ratio of prints…to be honest, it’s very frustrating that camera companies just don’t make digital cameras identical to the 35mm, etc…well there must be a reason for it I suppose (i hope!). Please read this post and get yourself educated on why pictures need to be cropped for certain sizes…an 8 x 10 being the most popular.

I came across a wonderful article today on Photo Focus that explains in many ways how you can get professional looking photos with your point and shoot camera. Click on the link below and soak up some Photography!

I met up with the G family on a beautiful Sunday evening. We decided on a local spot that many of us as kids frequented, Sheep Pasture. Their adorable twins, A & M got off to a rocky start but soon were smiling and gawking over the doggies that stopped through. Some of the pasture was high grass and rough terrain and this made for some laughs watching the girls conquer the field. These two were too cute and I can’t wait to have them at my NEW home STUDIO (yes I said that, a studio!) for a little photo shoot me and Mom have planned
I hope you enjoy your sneak peek G Family, it was great spending time and getting to know your girls!
So this week’s photo challenge is very different than what i heart faces usually does (faces…der). I know, I just used the word der. I couldn’t think of what else to substitute! Fair warning: I’m not the most creative writer…
This is what’s for dinner tonight (“Sloppy Joe’s, Sloppy Sloppy Joe’s”), nothing fancy but it is Beef so I qualify
One of the easiest things you can do to get a better picture of your child is to get down to their level! Changing the perspective of a photo can make a huge difference. Getting down to the child’s level gives you better eye contact and it draws the viewed directly to the child. Here are a couple examples of taking a picture from above their level and at their level…HUGE difference.
Above perspective:
Eye level:
Now don’t get me wrong, both of these photos are adorable and she is giving eye contact which is good but getting down to their level is giving the viewer a different view of the child’s perspective. While some portraits for older children allow for the shot taken above, try taking some candid’s at your child’s level and see how you like them
Today was Baby S’s modeling debut with me, and boy was she a natural! She was like putty in my hands! She was so sleepy and perfect in every way. A beautiful head of dark hair, long eyelashes and pouty lips, this baby girl is definitely going to be a heartbreaker! It was so nice to see you S family, you’ve made a beautiful baby girl
Enjoy your preview…
I was asked to forward this blog post around and I couldn’t agree more with Bobby Earl. Dogs get such a bad rap and I’m a dog lover, have one at home and do plan on having children and keeping my dog. Please visit his blog post and be captured by his story: http://bobbyearle.com/blog/big-dogs-little-newborn/
The following picture is something I’m submitting to Love your Shot’s website for a chance to win a little goodie
the theme for this week is Faces you Love. This picture has such great lighting I didn’t have to do much editing to get it where it is now. I did lighten it up a tad in curves, ran the coffeeshop baby powder action on it to smooth the skin and sharpen the eyes, sharpened/resized for web and put my watermark on it. Stay tuned, I’m going to be posting some photography tips on my blog!
Hope you love it!
